1) How much has Austin Smith played so far? Also, how has he played? I've been watching (for) Kirkland.

2) At what point does Kirkland take over?

3) Is Bates healthy? He impressed me last year.

3) Is Bates healthy? He impressed me last year.
1) he might have had a couple of snaps vs BG
2) apparently when the individual with a "photographic memory" and makes plays learns to "set the defense" as opposed to the player who sets the defense (with help from R-M) and doesn't make plays anywhere
3) he wasn't pre season and is mired down the depth chart

I was wondering how much Bates would need to be dinged up to be passed by Smith, who I hadn't noticed playing.

Kirkland has really been impressive when I've watched him. His speed and instincts are something. And yeah, I've noticed R-M seeming to make calls too.

Makes me feel better about coaching decisions.  OJT is just fine with me, since the J is not getting done otherwise.
