He's a great writer. There's something nice and nostalgic about seeing him write for a local free paper and invite readers to email him at a Netzero email addy. :biggrin:

He is the first star player I remember from listening to the Vols as a kid. He should definitely be on all of the Vols all-time great lists.

Fortunately, as the years faded those memories, I learned to appreciate his writing. Byrd liked to write about the classic Neyland games and also the Dickey era. |
