Will never happen.  Some one is yanking UT fan's chains.

Ok thanks. I think it's highly unlikely.  Tressel has the NCAA following him around like a big cloud.

I have seen a few fans mention him here and there, but I doubt UT has any interest in him at all.

Not to mention his show cause status. We're on probation. We don't need a coach with NCAA baggage (that goes for you too Butch Davis).

I think this should pretty much settle it:

If Tennessee was to hire Tressel, he would have to serve a five-game suspension to start the season and the Vols would be ineligible for a bowl game in his first season

I notice they list Butch Davis also.  No thank you!  Won't happen.

Fedora is now in my top five.   Which I guess, without thinking about it, might be:

1. Stanford coach (unlikely)
2. Strong (probably unlikely)
3. Patterson (most likely of the top three, but still unlikely)
4. ???
5. Fedora

Need to think about who no. 4 is a bit more, or if there is one.  Maybe the Baylor coach...what was his name again?

I heard Butch Davis was exhonerated by the NCAA.  If so, I would take him in a heart beat.

I should add that I am not counting Gundy, Stoops or Fisher as serious candidates.

Of the three, I think Fisher is the most likely to leave, but that is a WAG.  If so, then he would be slightly ahead of Fedora.

But I really hope we land Strong, Patterson or Shaw of Stanford.  I think all three will be tough to get, but maybe Patterson is the most likely.

I suppose we could do worse, but I would put him near the bottom of the list.  Kind of, if it's between him and Petrino, we'll take him.

It would be wild if the Coach was to be either Bobby Petrino or Jim Tressel. It would get National attention
