Title: In last year's game, Cooper was featured
Post by: BanditVol on October 22, 2015, 04:42:43 EDT
In fact he set a bammer record for receiving yards with 224   :banghead:

Interestingly, he broke a record set by Julio Jones in 2010 against...Tennessee  :banghead: :banghead:

But great news.  Cooper is playing for the Raiders now, and is in fact their leading receiver.

And while Blake Sims was not the greatest college QB ever, he was certainly better than Coker.

They did also run for 183 yards, which is a lot to give up, but they averaged 4.5 per carry on 41 carries, which is good, but not great.  Arguably our DL is better this year.

On paper, our D should play better this year.  I guess we will find out.

I am encouraged that their QB is struggling a bit and that they don't have a WR anywhere near the caliber of Cooper.  We simply could not stop him last year.

Ridley is very talented and could burn us this year - but the defense's first priority should be to slow down their run.

IMO Cam should shadow Ridley wherever he lines up, similar to Treadmill last year and take our chances with Moseley/Martin on the opposite side (think we spend a lot of time in base, cover 1 with Randolph playing essentially as a 4th LB)

Treadmill

I agree though. Don't get beat deep by Ridley and otherwise stack up against the run-- there's a chance to keep them out of the endzone that way.

After Alex Collins and Arky line showed what a punishing running game can do to us, my biggest concern by far is Henry.  Stop him, and take our chances that Coker can't beat us deep, at least not consistently.

This!!

I didn't feel going the week going into the Ark game and Bama is even better at downhill running. If they get that downhill running game going this weekend then it's gonna be a loooong day!

Yeah I just hope satan doesn't pay off the concussion doctor and their center is sidelined   :naughty:

On a serious note, Tamu did make halftime adjustments that were pretty effective. I hope our staff learns from those
