... has got to be tae qwan do... They bounce around with their arms to their side and not blocking while they use almost exclusively their feet. Didn't it use to be kickboxing?

I've always maintained that any judged activity isn't really a sport. If there isn't a definitive way to score points, cross a finish line first, etc.; If a panel of yahoos deem one person better than the other, it's not a sport. If you can gain or lose points based on the attractiveness of your costume or makeup, it's not a sport. And if it includes something called a "kiss and cry area", it's DEFINITELY not a sport.
This would rule out activities like diving, synchronized swimming, gymnastics, and figure skating. That's not to say that some of those things aren't enjoyable to watch (I especially enjoy watching the latter two). Nor is it to say that they don't require some amazing speed, strength, and/or athleticism. But they're not sports.

Agree 100%. They are competitions, but not a sport. To me, the competitors determine the winner in a sport, not a panel of judges.

They aren't using their blocks! It looks like they are trying to bear hug with their legs. It's STUPID!

They had the rhythmic gymnastics finals today. The Russians dominate the sport I guess. They looked like a bunch of strippers to me. So what were there names in Russian, I wonder? Diamondski, Starski, Sierraski, Bambiski, and Moniqueski?
