Well, S Knox County has always been a bit "different" yup. I stumbled across a still while hiking in my junior or senior year....most likely senior year. In fact, I found more than one over time. I found a couple that were abandoned and old, and at least one that was active. When I was in HS and we lived in the Kimberlin Heights area (my parents house is still there, although they are both now in homes for the elderly), in my HS head, the countryside all around their house was open country and not owned by anyone. I guess I thought it belonged to the state of Tennseesee. So I would hike through the woods for miles away from my parents house, mostly in the winter when there wasn't much else to do. Took the family dog sometimes. And now I realize I was trespassing the entire time. Probably lucky I wasn't shot at some point.

Kinda crazy that only Peyton, Shuler and Dobbs done much at the next level. Maybe Bobby Scott. I expected more of them to do better than they did at the time. A lot of it has to do with luck and location.
Not sure Dobbs did all that much? Shular did start a season or two, but didn't amount to much. I think this is very common. Can't think of many schools that have a lot of successful quarterbacks. Oddly, Purdue is one. Griese (BOB, to be clear), Len Dawson, Drew Brees, Mike Phipps, Jim Everett, Kyle Orton, and I'll even throw in Mark Hermon, though a great college QB, not sure he ever made it in the NFL. Purdue is "Quarterback U" even though their overall success at football has been sketchy to say the least.

When I first moved to East Tennessee in 1982, there were billboards everywhere in S Knox County that said "Water is for washing, Dickel is for drinking" and it showed a country gent sitting in an old school washtub drinking Dickel from the bottle. That sure did seem appropriate for S Knox County somehow!

They?re 3 games up on us, but I don?t think it?s impossible that we catch them. Our remaining schedule is a little more manageable. They?re a good team, but I don?t think they?re quite as good as their record. We were the first SEC team they played with a winning record.
Not that it matters. A division title is meaningless. So is Hoover. It?s now all about getting in the best position possible for the NCAAT.
Tournies are meaningless in multiple sports.

Lady Mafia.....Subaru crowd.
I thought so....not sure why its a "Cat" board per se, you could have, for some odd reason, meant UK. Then again...not sure I want to know why its a Cat board.

Third and fourth in Men's football and basketball, respectively. Sadly only 7th in women's basketball. I am sure that was once no.1 by a large margin, with the exception of UConn for the last 15 to 20 years. Hopefully we will be back in the top 3 or 4 in women's basketball before too long.

Yet Paul Slimebaum gets 3 hours per day on the SECN when they could be showing us baseball....softball....golf...tennis...volleyball. Anything but Dumbo that's never put a jockstrap on in his life...If he ever did he used it as a dust mask Not to mention he insists on having the same half dozen retarded [insert politically correct word for retarded here ] inbreds on, day after day after day, ad naseum, nonstop. Jim from Tuscalloosa (perhaps THE dumbest) has quit "for good" at least a dozen times, and ole Paul just keeps him on. Its the Jerry Springer of sports talk. I guess that sells though.

Looks like Mashack and the poortal was a faulse report
IF I werre a betting man I would bet that Awaca returns and Aidoo is gone For me, that is a net WIN for the VOLS
That would mean Awaca starts, Estrella gets the B/U role and Phillips assumes the role that Estrella had this year
yup

Also, I think eventually we?ll come to a point where the SEC (and probably the B10) begins to contract. The most obvious candidates are the 4 most recent expansion schools. If they had it to do over again, would they have really added Mizzou and Arkansas? What value do they bring to the league in today?s media landscape? And if Clemson comes on board, there?s really no point in being doubled up in a small state like SC. I?m sure they?d like to keep A&M, but word is they feel burned by the Texas deal. They may leave for the B10 on their own if offered.
Everyone will point to Vandy and MSU, but I don?t think they would give charter members the boot. Especially in vandy?s case, I think the league would like to keep the Nashville market in-house. It?s by far the best road trip destination in the SEC (though Austin will give them a run for their money). Though we may take it for granted, I think a lot opposing fans look forward to that trip, even if they know the game will be dud.
As discussed at the time, Missouri is actually a great TV market, they have both St. Louis and Kansas City, and probably draw a fair amount from Illinois. Arkansas...they had name recognition and a pretty good brand in 1992, when I think TV was a bit less of a draw for the league. I mean...we also took South Carolina.

You guys are too easy. What coach has ever not thought or said what she did. Of course none of them think they are in over their head to begin with. Hope she kills it. Tell me, why her though? Why did the Vols go the cheap route?
"You guys are too easy." Exactly what does that mean? They just said they liked how she handled the presser. Do you think she handled it poorly? Is there any post above where anyone, I dunno, says "she is the next Pat Summitt", "Final Four here we come", "this is the greatest hire ever!". What exactly are you implying? As for "going the cheap route" I can't answer that on substance without knowing what the going rate for women's basketball coaches is, and I don't care to look it up. Dropping the "cheap" part. Danny White stated he found someone with "potentially a very large upside". In other words, he is going for potential, not a proven track record. That should be obvious. It might work, it might not, but I love her attitude, intensity, and energy. And while I love Kellie for what she meant to the Vols and for trying hard, I didn't get that energy from her. Do I think she is a lock to get us to the FF and hopefully another naty? No, of course not. That would be idiotic. Do I like what I have seen so far? Hell yes! She had me fired up wanting to see how well she does. She oozes youthful energy and enthusiasm. A knock on Kellie was that she is out of touch with todays players (says a player that went to Junior instead). She gives a vibe of being very in touch with today's players. I like it. I want to see more. Never thought that about Hollie or Kellie. Danny is swinging for the fences on potential. I like gambling. Do a fair amount of it. I think we might just win big. If not, we can move on to the next try. I like what I see so far though.
