Sports / VTTW Message Board / I don't get around here much anymore, but I am so damn proud of this team

Everybody wanted to throw dirt on them after those first 2 games, which, admittedly, were horrible. But to go 7-3 after that with the schedule they had and the 3 losses being to top 10ish teams, I got to applaud them for not giving up. I wanted to watch the bowl game in Chattanooga while I was in state but damn, January 3? I'll be back in NC, at work. Anyway, kudos to the team and GBO!

And the winner is RazorbackJones.
I have no idea who that is. He or she does not show up in the member list for VTW. However, he or she is the winner and will receive the $100 gift certificate to Burger Chef. The certificate is in the mail.
Burger Chef closed its last restaurant in 1996. And the certificate is not in the mail.
Congratulations RazorbackJones. Enjoy your prize!
Well, if Burger Chef is closed, I guess that I better throw out that half burger that I still have in the fridge.

Ozark season 2 on Netflix. If you liked Breaking Bad, watch this. It's very similar in story and structure, evokes that same feeling of "creeping dread". Not as good as BB (nothing is) but still great.
Jack Ryan on Amazon Prime. It's really good, if you can get past seeing Jim Halpert in the leading role.
Wait a minute. I thought John Krasinski was in the lead role.

Nailed it. We will know whether it is a whole new song or second verse same as the first.
Haslem ruined the Browns. He is working on making us the laughingstock of college football like Cleveland is in the NFL?

Someone will pay him a chunk of money to remain silent. Also if he spills the beans, he will never work in athletics again. They are a closed group not prone to talking openly about each other.
He already has another job worked out somewhere out West (Oregon State?)

You know, it used to be that I would go to the neighborhood bar and commandeer one of the TVs for the Vols game of the week during football season. When and if we beat Florida, back when that was an actual thing, I couldn't wait for the next week and the Georgia game. Then Bama was coming up and SC and later on KY and Vanady, with the cake part of our schedule. I grinded through another crap week every week at work with that at the end of the rainbow. Win, lose or draw, I would always enjoy the game. Sure, sometimes we got whooped but I never went into a game feeling like we would. I barely even turn on the Alabama game anymore because I have pretty much no hope. I don't like that feeling. And I'm just plain embarassed when we fire and hire a new coach as it is almost always a ridiculous dog and pony show and we end up looking pitiful and ridiculous as a football program. At least, we didn't hire Doeren, that NC State scumbag.

Most likely, Butch has no investment in maintaining these RS'S and already knows it.
Of course, the longer it goes the more I worry that there might be the possibility that he returns in 2018.
Come on man! I stand a better chance of being UTs coach next year than Butch does.

Sports / VTTW Message Board / I only post about Vols basketball occasionally

My last post concerned the 30,000 idiots who runoft what was a perfectly capable coach. Oh, we have Donnie Idiot now, I was told. How'd that work out as we now have the pleasure of having 2 of our last 3 coaches being under a shoiw cause penalty? But, that is all in the past. We got lucky as hell when Texas dropped an excellent coach in our lap because of his lack of NCAA Tournament success despite him having a great record as coach of the other UT. So I'm not a Rick Barnes hater at all. I bought the whole doesn't have the energy to recruit anymore thing from my BIL, who I went to the ETSU game with and, in his defense is a huge Vols fan.
And we did get off to a horrible start, losting to Chattanooga among others, I remember one of the players saying that they were all freshmen, except Hubbs and Chattanooga had a very senior team and that is true. Still, you can't lose to Chattanooga. Then Mostella was a beast and almost single handedly won the ETSU game for us, which I attended, Then he got kicked off the team for smoking weed. Digression: I think this is BS. It should be legal and UT should be providing him with all he wants. OK, anyway, since then these freshmen are really starting to pay off. Bone was injured earlier but his a stud and Grant Williams has really impressed me lately. Hubbs is Hubbs and should be a first team all-SEC guy.
Are we an NCAA tournament team? There is still work to be done but we are whipping Auburn (and Bruce Pearl) on the road right now so the needle is pointing upward.
