He won the job out of camp last year, and no one questioned it. Per all reports, he has the utmost confidence of his coaches and teammates. That leads me to believe that he’s making these throws in practice. Is it all in his head? Does he get stage fright in front of big crowds? Maybe he needs to see a sports psychologist.
I think the proof is in the way he's played this season. While it was obviously in very limited situations, he was making those throws in mop-up duty this season. Then as soon as he went into a game where it mattered (although South Carolina had us beat by that point, in all reality), he started over-throwing his targets. Maybe Heup needs to find a way to hypnotize him before the start of the game and make him think he's trotting out with a 50-0 lead.
