As happy as I am with our awesome DL (Barnett was third in the country in tackles for loss!   ), I would like to see us have a couple equal caliber pickups at OL.  So Richmond, come on down.

If not, then is Coleman a starter?  I know he plays nickel but does he start at nickel?

Regardless of what happens, you can't judge a new coach taking over a beat down program after one season.  That's completely irrational.  But football fans ARE highly irrational, so....

My only complaint is the play calling on our last score.  Three straight runs by Dobbs.  Almost like Dobbs just wanted to run another in.  Try a pass there....but then again with this staff passes in the end zone are often INTs.  Still, at least give the ball to Hurd or Lane one of those times.

A minor complaint...we didn't need the score, but it almost seemed like Butch wanted practice for our kicker.

At what % would you put the UT crowd?  From the brief glimpses on TV, it appeared to be about 80% or so.

Edit- that now makes 7 4-star defensive linemen combined in the 2014 & 2015 classes.

Agree. I'm not going to be a bit surprised if UT doesn't win the East next season, but there's no reason this team shouldn't be expected to be in contention for a trip to Atlanta. None. UT fans should expect it. We get two of the top three teams in the East in our place, and the team we face on the road is undergoing a coaching transition.

It's the U of Texas - best facilities in the land bar none, enough talent to field 4 good to very good D1-A teams within a 300 mile drive from Austin, and fan support as good as anywhere in the free world.  There is never an excuse for a losing season in Austin. 

Yeah and saban was 6-6 in his first year. So....

By all means you should drive through there.  Pollute their air, put some wear and tear on their highways- just stop at the state line to eat and fill up so they don't get any of your money.

I drove home from Dallas twice recently, once after the OU UT game, and again in December after attending a wedding.  The route home is I-20, which goes past a certain cesspool of a crimson shade.  I'm not going to say I littered, but the car sure was lighter after I got to Birmingham.   

If either MSU or Auburn lose, I would have to agree with their assessment.  I will admit that I usually root against all sec teams in bowl games except Tennessee and South Carolina.  I feel that almost anything that's good for other sec teams is not good for UT.  GO VOLS!!!!

Bingo.  The West is now 2-5.  I am guessing they were a tad overrated.  It's also suspect when a conference, let alone a 7-team division, makes their reputation by playing each other.  Exposed to say the least.

At the next Nike coaches clinic Stoops, Richt, and Strong will hold a discussion on how to underachieve without really trying.

Think it's a bit early to say that about Strong.  He inherited a pretty crappy team, talented or not.  Maybe in another year or two.

 

 

Miami closed the season on a 4 game losing streak - to F$U and two teams that finished the regular season 6-6 and another who finished 5-7.  There is no excuse for a team with that much talent and a school that is in such a fertile recruiting area to suck that badly.  Al Golden's glitter is growing dim.
