It's currently 23 degrees there, and I'm sure it will be even colder for the night game.

I don't think I can remember a Braves team ever playing in this kind of cold.  They've had some April games in Chicago that were in the 30's (they opened the season there in 94- I was there), and some cool postseason games, but nothing like this.

They just said this will be the coldest game in Rockies history.  Damn.

I went to a Braves-Giants game in Turner Field in April of 2000 that was cold as hell. It was absolutely nothing like this

It's crazy to play baseball in that weather.  The risk to weather related injury isn't worth the potential reward of the gate.

It has to be painful to hit a ball in those temps

Well, last night's game was snowed out, and this will be the Braves only trip out there this season, so I guess they figured this was the only time to make it up.

That's one of the many pitfalls of this stupid unbalanced schedule.

It's not as much the bat hitting ball, which is bad enough, as it is the potential for muscle and skeletal injuries.  Baseball isn't like football - players are standing around cooling down between pitches and risk injury when forced to react quickly.  Plus pitchers arms aren't accustomed to getting the kind of work they will get in that kind of weather.

With the money that owners invest in players in this day and time I am really surprised that they are taking this kind of risk.

The Rockies have 14 home games in the month of April.  The Braves have 10.  What's wrong with that picture?

Wouldn't you think that MLB would try to schedule more early games in warm weather cities to avoid this kind of situation?  Or does that make too much sense?

Judging by the (lack of) attendance, it doesn't appear as though the natives are much better.
