K so now I'm sitting here at work listening to all the possum's classics, and I'm not a crier but I've forgotten how some of his songs make me tear up every time.  "She Loved A Lot In Her Time", "Wild Irish Rose", "The Grand Tour", "He Stopped Loving Her Today".

Yes, RIP George Jones!  One of my favorites songs he did was "Who's Gonna Fill Their Shoes", among others. It would be fiting for country radio to have a George Jones marathon of songs soon.

He's on the Mount Rushmore of all-time great country singers. As the old saying goes, he might not have been in a class by himself, but it don't take long to call the roll.

IMHO the best thing you can ever say about a singer is that they are unique. Old possum had a unique sound, and it was loved by many.

Saw him live four times..... and he was in "true George" fashion three of the four (if you know what I mean).  Love this man's music!

Unique!  I totally agree with that.  A voice like no other.

Man, I'm getting old.

Waylon said it best, "if we could all sing like we wanted to, we‘d all sound like George Jones."

No bigger fan of old country than me in the 50's 60' 70's...bought about all of the country records back in that day. Couldn't give a hoot about the country of the last 20-25 years.

He lived up to his title because I attended 6 of his concerts over the years but never got to see him

RIP George

Another Country Music legend is gone. This song is my favorite George Jones song. I remember as a kid in the 70's. My parents had this 8 track tape player in the living room. My parents loved Country Music. I remember listening to George Jones,Tammy Wynette,Johnny Cash,Waylon Jennings,Charlie Rich,Marty Robbins,Conway Twitty and Freddie Fender. Now all those Country Music stars are gone.
