Title: So, does Ellis get Helms' scholly now?
Post by: PirateVOL on December 15, 2014, 12:12:31 EST
It was clear that Ellis had moved ahead of Helm on the depth chart, now Helm is leaving :wtf: :dunno: :inughout:

And Hendrix, Henderson, and Darrell Scott.  It's a shame, I think Helm and Scott in particular could've contributed when healthy.  But when you bring in super-size recruiting classes, this is to be expected.  We're probably about to sign another 30+, so I'm sure we'll see some more attrition before all is said and done.

The Vols had depth at RB with Hurd, Lane, Pinkett, Scott, and Summerhill. But I've not seen UT have as deep at Running back since Stewart, Garner, and Hayden. Then there was Cobb and Webb but I can't remember who the third back was in the rotation. Can't forget about Lewis, Henry, and Stevens either. Who do you think the best group of backs were?

Ellis deserves a scholarship hands down. Shouldnt even be a debate about that.

That 97 RB class will go down as one of the greatest of all time.  Don't forget we also signed Chris Ramseur in that class, who was a top 100 RB that we ended up moving to LB.

I remember him. He also transferred somewhere else. Like Brian Darden did. If I'm not mistaken Vols staff wanted him to move to DB so he transferred. I had heard or read that he ended up playing DB wherever he transferred to.

Interesting note, if Ratliff doesn't recover the stumble/fumble most likely Ramseur would have.
