How so?
Well, it was a bad spot to begin with, because you could see on the replay that he was about a foot short. But then they spot it where they did, measure, there's a good 2-3 inches of daylight between the marker and the tip of the ball, and they call it a first down anyway? How do you miss that?  |

I didn't miss it. I'm assuming that the ref knows which link in the chain constitutes a first down. The ball may not need to make the marker, it may only need to make it to the last complete link on the chain before the clip (which it did). Also, I don't think the mark was wrong - there just was not enough evidence to overturn the call on the field. Just my $.02.
