Vandy had their shizzle together on the search. Maybe UT can take notes.

Really?
1st, they have far lower expectations than we do
2nd, they picked up the phone and asked perhaps the only candidate who could spell Vandy, someone tht had played for them
3rd, who gives a shizzle about anything to do with Vandy?

Relax, it's not about Vandy, it's about us.

But I take it you are happy with our most recent coaching search?  Or any since the firing of Fulmer?  Maybe the Kiffin hiring went relatively smoothly, but that's it.  Every single one since has been a cluster, and the last one was the mother of all clusters.

So to address your points, yes Lea is one of the few coaches interested, and Vandy has a low threshold, but that doesn't change the fact that they were prepared and that it went very smoothly.

That's my point.  Lea may or may not be a great hire for them, but at least they had a plan and executed it smoothly.

Maybe next time around, UT can tie their shoes without falling face first into the ground!

My point is that they simply called up their ex player and he said yes.  It was not, nor it did it need to e as complex as hiring a coach for a (supposed) MAJOR college programme!
Apple and oranges, and nobody gives a shizzle about the comodedoors anyway

But our "major program" f*cked up two of the last three searches, and although the Butch Jones search went a bit more smoothly, he wasn't even close to our first choice.  In Vandy's case they at least had someone identiified ahead of time that was likely to accept.  That would constitute being able to find your ass with two hands, which the Vols have not done in recent coaching searches.

And what is with this "programme" shizzle?  You were in limeyland too long dude!

I'm not sure I'd say the Butch Jones search was smooth. We got Gundy'd, got turned down by Strong ... and, if you believe some reports, we may have even been turned down by Fedora.

Gundy got 2 raises from Tennessee, in two consecutive coaching debacles
Butch Jones was just the 5th (or worse) choice, but then we had a MORON for an AD as well so we had that going for us, till we got a far worse one

Yeah, just trying to give the benefit of the doubt.  It's sad that of the last three coaches, the Butch Jones hire was arguably the best run search.
