All men dream: but not equally.
Those who Dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds
Wake in the day to find that it was vanity; but the
Dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they
May act their dream with open eyes, to make it Possible.
This I did.

That is quite an interesting read. And yes, hubris is a a sure-fire way to get ahead, but it's also the best way to look like a buffoon.

Interesting thought on Mullen also, that he thinks he is the "smartest person in the room" and so had trouble admitting mistakes

That is very interesting.  If Lane goes anywhere this year, it will be LSU.  Senior does not want him, or if they did, they are crazy.

If LSU comes calling, it will be interesting to see Lane pick between them and the possibility of having Arch Manning.

I don't think anyone thinks Lane will be at Ole Miss long term, but my hunch is that he wants to see how Arch plays out.  If he gets Arch, he will stick around 4 more years, but if not, he will bolt, if not for LSU then elsewhere, but the elsewhere is a lot more likely next season.

Appreciate his thoughts on Heupel. I am not going to predict anything. I thought Pruitt would do a game better than Butch at some point (10-3), but that was off base.  Who knows how well Heupel will be eventually, I am just glad we (likely) make a bowl this year.

One way to look at it is, Jones, Dooley and Pruitt all had losing seasons their first year, and Lane went only 7-6. If Heupel makes a bowl at 6-6 and wins, he will tie Kiffin, but I would give the tie breaker to Heupel because Lane lost the bowl game (badly).
