MSU I think is a bit overrated going into the season
Yeah....no way do they win it. I would also be surprised at Ole Miss. They are much improved, but not that much. And I am not even sold on Tamu without Manziel. I see it as a three way race, but I am pretty sure Auburn will repeat. Decline has finally caught up with LSU...they just are not top notch anymore, and bammer has to break in a new QB. Auburn until proven otherwise.

It looks like Worley's taking off with it now. Not a lot of mystery.
Now, second string is interesting, as right now it looks like Peterman is going to be the #2 guy, making Dobbs 3. I wonder if Dobbs redshirts if that happens.
The conventional wisdom was that Peterman was finished after Florida. But I never put that all on him...I thought Butch made a poor decision to start a true frosh on the road vs. Florida. He should have waited a week. I suspect he let fan pressure get to him. Regardless, I am very open to Peterman getting another shot. Dobbs was competant for a true frosh last year, but didn't really generate a whole lot of points and seems to not be a big deep ball threat. Worley of course is inconsistent but I will take the Worley of USCe and Uga any day. I think starting out with Worley and letting Dobbs and Peterman compete for number 2 is the correct strategy. Can't wait to see how our offense does against Utah State.

And as I recall, he was committed to us from pretty early on and then changed his mind and silently committed to Petrino, who told him not to publicly flip until right before signing day. So I guess both of those guys got what they deserved when Bobby took his Harley out for that fateful ride.
He was to be the defensive jewel of Dooley's last full signing class, and would've been the highest rated LB that Dooley had ever signed. By comparison, Butch landed two LBs that were rated higher just last year, and has one more committed this year. Things ARE getting better. My gut instinct is that we will struggle mightily the first half the season, and then close with a couple pleasant surprises and hopefully go to a bowl. Which will be quite different from last year, when we declined quite a bit after Worley got hurt.

Not now. Shannon Terry (posts under the name Lucky) sold Rivals to Yahoo a few years back and made big bucks. He launched 247 Sports as his new project with Shannon the majority owner and longtime Texas recruiting guru Bobby Burton as the minority owner. When the contract with Rivals ended with his Bama site, which was Rivals largest team site, he moved Bama Online to 247. He operates 247 and Bama Online and posts there as well...full of good info.

Oh okay. Rivals still seems to have a bammer bias. Maybe some of the staff Terry hired are still around.

Pro football - my father grew up in the Florida panhandle, so some of my earliest memories are watching with him the classic Griese and Czonka teams of the mid-70s. Thus I grew up a Dolphins fan. I actually do recall rooting for the Colts in the 1971 Super Bowl against Dallas, just because they had white jerseys, and when the Colts moved to Indy in the 80s I became a fan since I lived in Indiana the first 15 years of my life. Then when the Titans moved to Tennessee I started following them a bit also. And of course, I am partial to the Broncs so long as Peyton is there, and that is really recent. Basketball - Pacers fan from the mid 70s. Always have been, always will be. I like the Clippers to an extent, because they are NOT the Lakers. I almost moved to LA in 2001 and if I had I was planning to wear Clippers gear all the time and announce loudly that I would NOT want to be seen on the sideline of Lakers games and that Jack Nicholson can kiss my ass anyway. Baseball - grew up a Reds fan and still follow them a bit. Not a huge baseball fan though, so basically I just check the standings every now and then, but haven't even really been doing that lately. College football - Huge Vol fan though I evolved into it. Was a casual fan upon moving to Knoxville in 1982, then became a real fan upon enrollment in 1985, but still had divided loyalties because I was a huge Notre Dame fan starting in 1977. Switched loyalty completely to Tennessee in the 1991 "miracle in South Bend" because I didn't like the announcers dissing Tennessee. Nowadays Purdue has replaced ND as no. 2 since I got a grad degree from Purdue. Hockey - used to like the Indy Whalers of the old WHL, but they are long gone. I only watch hockey during the Olympics, but if I had to pick a team it would be the Preds for obvious reasons.

Well the man has proven that he can recruit, and without the hype and stupidity of Kiffin. For all the noise and flash about Kiffin's so-called recruiting prowess, Fulmer had a much better class in 2007 than either of the two Kiffin helped put together. Of course, Kiffin in a sense only had two "half classes", but I am getting off track. Whether he can coach em up to be where we need to be remains to be seen, but so far, at the very least Butch is restocking the talent to a level not seen for at least 7 years. And no matter what else happens, that's a good thing.

Baseball: Braves, even before they moved to Atlanta (Spahn & Sain, Pray for rain, Eddie MAthews, Hank Aaron, etc) & Cincinnati in mid 70s while stationed in Ohio (Rose, Bench, Doggie Perez, etc era). Football: Da Bears historically though Baltimore in the Unitas eara was a fav. Indy/Denver more recently for some reason ... Hockey:....Could give a rats ... Basketball: From Russell to Bird The Boston Celtics! Born and bred BIG ORANGE!!
Wow. When DID the Braves move, because I don't even remember that. Oldtimer.

1. I revel recalling comments on a certain rival board circa 2007 predicting both national championships and dominating recruiting classes far into the future. This current class of theirs is on par or even worse than the stinker that Fulmer put together in 2006 (I think? Around then...it was his worst ever) or any of Dooley's classes. Shaudenfraude (sp?) can be nice some times. And I can only hope a certain other rival is equally humbled in the future. 2. This is clearly a referendum by future players on Muschamp. While HS recruits are not the best forecasters of a program's success, the fact that Muschamp can't lure a bit more talent to Gainesville is very telling. It all reminds me of Dooley's last year. 3. It's true that we finally need to beat them. Although 1 is true and I enjoy their current misery given how arrogant some of their fans were under Urban, it's a bitter taste when we keep losing to them in spite of their downfall. Game is in Knoxville, so... Also true that coaching changes are a bit of a lottery, so I am not sold that replacing Muschamp will help next year....I think we could be very competitive next year. But in the meantime, looking forward to playing them in Knoxville. In October too, come to think of it.
