From what I see, we're 17th in the nation and 6th in the SEC. And we recently got two transfers.

Considering the circumstances, that's not bad. Right? And yes I know that we want and should be better. (I thought I would meet that inevitable reply head on.)

I wonder if that ranking takes into account the two signees who have requested a release from their LOI?

After the turmoil that this program has been through, I would think that a top 20 recruiting class would be a blessing.

I don't follow recruiting a lot and get 99.9% of recruiting info off UT boards...I was out this morning and on the radio they said that 24/7 had our class ranked 15th and 6th. I'd say that's pretty darn good considering all the grap the last 6 weeks plus the awful 3-7 season. Back in the Summer we were ranked in the top 5 but we had more commits than most at that time and then we had some commits drop us back in November and then before the early signing period...I think we have a few spots left and will probably add a couple more through the transfer portal or JUCOS.

We had some pretty good players transfer out  (Chandler, Gray, To To etc) so it's going to be lean for a couple of years IMO.

Man, I hope JH proves to be able to coach up and develop his players.

Per Rivals we only have 21 committments.

wondering if that's because of the transfers?  It can't be the annual limit, because I doubt we are anywhere near 85 total at this point.

It is
Under Pruitt we were going to hit the XFER market to fill the remaining targets
Seems to be a similar concept for the new coach

Oh look...recruiting classes... 1 Bama, 2 Ohio State, 3 UGa, 4 LSU. When will it end? How many SEC teams have a legit shot at an SEC title most years? 5 in a good year maybe.

This seems quite solid. Development will indeed be key.
