No doubt, I thought there was plenty of fight in Smokey. DAWGS knew they were in a ballgame quick, and the crowd in Neyland was as electric as always. Great fans up there. I thought Maurer showed lots of moxie. My guess is that things will be looking up in Knoxville quite soon. Congrats on a hard fought game and my best wishes to you all for the rest of the season.

Hey- let me preface my post with this- I truly come in peace. Just wondering what's up with this guy? Just read in the AJC this AM that he is in the portal and is looking at/down to UGA and Ohio State. Just wondering what's up with this guy/why he is leaving UT? Thanks for your candid comments. I know TE is a big time need for us, at the moment, since we lost two (to the pros/transfer), and another is coming off major injury. Just curious. Thanks in advance for your comments. Congratulations on having a very nice recruiting class, and picking up some rather big names yesterday. I think Pruitt is the real deal.
All my best,
bravo

Just read on another site UGA just gave Pittman a 3 year 5 million contract......To coach the OL!!!
Coaching $$$ are getting out of hand. Stadiums aren't filling up as it is and sooner or later that ESPN money is going to dry up and there's going to be some schools hurting.
There's lots of love for Pittman in the Bulldog Nation, these days. He seems to be able to recruit OL on a much more elite level than we ever could under Richt, which I suppose is the reason why so much love. We have been running the ball pretty well, lately, too. But, of course, we have been completely committed to that, it seems.

Thanks folks. Best of luck to the Vols, going forward. Recruiting looks like it is going well for you, and I am certain that y'all have upgraded your coaching situation mightily over the last 13 months. I'd bet everything I have that y'all are (at least) in a decent bowl this coming season. bravo

That's a weird way of stepping into a thread if true, but yes, he's a great get for UT and I do agree that his move will benefit UGA as well
Well, I got the feeling folks thought I was here to start trouble, just based on some of the responses I got. I am not. Certainly not. That isn't me...at least not for a long time, and I have no plans to be a rude guest, ever again.

You beat me to it. Hope we can make up some ground on the SECE. I'm not here to be a smart-alleck. That's a fact. Just stopped by to see what folks were thinking about it. First off- I loved Pruitt as a coach at UGA, and was happy for him to get the UT job. I will always be indebted to him, because he helped certain folks see that it was time for Richt to go. My guess is that Pruitt wants Chaney for the same reason Kirby wanted him at a similar point in his career. At the same time, I think Kirby is happy to part company with him now and try something different. Like I said, it's all good for everyone involved, including Chaney. I can certainly understand wanting to retire to E. TN someday....I hope to do the same thing before I kick the bucket. Anyhow- best of luck- I see nice things happening for UT soon.

I was just wondering what it was about watching a 66-0 absolute drubbing of a lightweight that made you feel confident about beating UGA? Anyhow-- hey Vol fans. Long time, no see. Best of luck this week. Hoping we might finally tie the series with the Vols this Saturday, but you never know. I also wouldn't be shocked if UT upsets UGA. bravo

Sports / VTTW Message Board / I thought UT did a lot of really good things....

...they forced all of UGA's turnovers. We gave you nothing-- UT took it. I thought Jarvis Jones was the best D player in the nation, but your line found a way to keep him from getting to Bray. And....speaking of Bray, he reminded me a lot of Peyton, back when Peyton was thrashing us year after year. I think he's the best QB in the conference. Mostly, though-- most teams could have laid down 2X versus UGA in that game, but UT never laid down. When we were winning by 14 in the 4th quarter, I still felt like we were going to lose. And we almost did. If your receivers had hung on to a few more balls, UT could have walked out of there with a big win. In any case, I think they walked out of their with their chins up. UT played hard and it was a war. If the shoe was on the other foot, I'd still be proud of my boys, as that was an instant classic. I look for UT to win some big games this year. Don't think you can't take Bama, as I think you can take it right to them. Congratulations on a hard fought battle and best of luck the rest of the way.
bravo
