Another 30+ point game

Retirement Rick gets T?d up down 9 with about 1:30 left in the first half
From there the VOLS just stomped the comodedoors while the 70+% Orange crowd went nuts

75-62 Final

The half was ugly because DK was not "on".

This team MUST be able to get scoring from others if they are going to have success in March, imo.

Watch JJJ run away from the basket on the play. Even if DK shoots it, JJJ is in no position to rebound a miss. Can anyone explain what JJJ was thinking here?

Our FT shooting, especially in the first half, made this a lot harder than it had to be.

As for JJJ, blame me. I cursed him a couple weeks ago when I praised him as our best all-around player on here. From that point on, he's just disappeared.

At least Santi showed some signs of life tonight.

the game turned on Retirement Rick?s technical

I think he pulled a Gene Hackman in Hoosiers and demanded the ref T him up
When you look at it Barnes is working the ref and the team

I loved it when he went from having a foul called on him to shooting two free throws

Seen on twittter:

Dalton Knecht has been so hot on the road that Tim Corbin wants the refs in Memorial to check his bat ?

The technical came with 1:17 left in the first half. Vandy led until the 14:27 point in the second half. DK scored 12 straight Tennessee points in that stretch.

His final numbers don't pop off the page, but Estrella gave us some solid minutes tonight. We're going to need him down the stretch- because the refs seem to have it out for Awaka, who just can't stay on the floor. He seemingly gets whistled for two fouls just for walking over to the scorer's table to check in.

Idk what the chances are we go all the way to the final 4, but I am trying my best to soak this season up.  Feels like now or never.  It?s probably really gonna hurt at the end.

the Bamer game was his only ?poor? outing in SEC play
He is, and is going to help us going forward

I agree. I think this kid could be good in the future, hopefully the very near future.

I saw only the second half.  I'll take credit for it?

I didn't see mentioned above we had that 3 point shooter come in again and hit a couple (Gainey).  That is also a nice addition this year...someone who can come in cold and give us that outside shot.

JJJ in January: 7 games)

300 minutes
11/ 42 FG - 26%
9/21 2pt FG - 43%
2/21 3pt FG - 9.5%
3/5 FT - 60%
42 rebounds
15 assists
2 blocks
8 steals
14 personal fouls
6 TO
27 points

This team needs more from him offensively.

I was not really excited when he decided to return, but he proved me wrong in the early part of the season. The team needs him to get back to that level. He is capable.

We've still yet to have a game where DK, JJJ, Santi and ZZ are clicking on all cylinders at the same time. I get that there's only one ball to go around, and that they're not all gonna get 20 a night- but Santi and JJJ have actually looked timid and scared to shoot at times. Hubbs was speculating that JJJ might currently be playing with an undisclosed injury. If so, he should probably be benched until he recovers. Mashack is more than capable of filling his role.

I?ve wondered about that. He?s not the same as he was earlier in the season.

If he is hurt, he?s playing a really high number of minutes for an injured player. I agree about Mashack.
