That's unusual, typically LBs dominate and when a safety is the top tackler you should be worried.

However it does make sense for the game played Saturday, with both sides throwing for over 300 yards.  Bammers' top 2 tacklers were also DBs (followed by everyone's favorite LB  )

So you can tell we were depleted at secondary. I had barely heard of Donieko Slaughter and this is the first time I have heard of Christian Charles.

I know they gave up a lot of yards, but they did play just well enough for the W.  I say good job stepping up when needed.

This is year 3 for Slaughter & 2 for Charles. Both a played a good bit. I thought the back ups could step up Saturday, and they did! That's why we have them

Yes, but I don't think either of them started till this year.  Slaughter I think did get a lot of PT last year, but I had no idea who Charles was till this season (this game actually).

TBH haven't been monitoring the DBs that closely either though. I usually am a bit more into the lineups, just haven't been as much this year for some reason.

At least ours made some tackles. Bama's didn't make any. The Bama DB covering Hyatt lost 15 lbs chasing him to the endzone all afternoon.
