I was really hoping they would keep him on for another year, but knew they probably wouldn't. I don't want them competing with us and Arkansas for a great coach.

With the NCAA cloud hanging over Jordan-Hare, you should have few concerns about competition.

That and we actually play them next year.  I like our odds with Chizik, but with our luck they will be really good with the new coach.   But so we will, I hope.

I bet Gene Chizik winds up as Head Coach at Southern Miss in 2013. USM went 0-12 this season and probably is going to fire Ellis Johnson
