There was a 1998 publication of the same name but is something else. She is not a professional author but if you read with the idea that you are at the dinner table listening to the family tell their stories then you have the right idea.
It is the family telling stories of growing up dirt poor in Mine Lick Creek, Tn. The stories make you wonder how they survived. The dam was built around 1948 and the mouth of Mine Lick is in the northeastern part of my county (DeKalb) but the majority of the creek lies in Putnam. I might check out the book if it has to do with my county. Our county historian might also be interested. |
