I hate to lose Kimbrel, but what does a team that isn't even trying to contend right now need with a frontline closer?  And if it gets us out from under BJ...er, I mean Melvin's contract, I'm all for it.

Yep, there may not be many games to save this year. I don't expect watching the Braves is going to be very interesting this year. Or the next.

At least they got rid of Melvin's contract.

At least they got rid of Melvin's contract.

With all the marginal free agents they've signed to short term deals this winter, they should have a ton of money to spend on top shelf guys in a couple years.  And hopefully some of these prospects they've been stockpiling will be ready to contribute by then.
