Title: UConn was Caitlyn Clark's "dream school", but they didn't recruit her
Post by: Black Diamond Vol on April 08, 2024, 02:49:40 EDT
Ironically, I don't think she would've gotten anywhere NEAR the notoriety if she had gone there. I think a big part of her universal appeal is that she plays for a team that people aren't sick of. If she had gone to UConn, SC, LSU, or even UT, she's just another great player in a long line of great players. But at Iowa, she's the most recognizable female athlete in the world. Funny how these things work out. I think The Rolling Stones made a song about it.

I think being the all time leading scorer at any school would get attention.  But had she gone to any of those other schools, she likely is not the leading scorer of all time.

I don?t know- I had never heard of the girl whose record Clark broke until she started getting close.

Her name is Kelsey Plum, BTW. She went to Washington, and she?s a smokeshow. :wow:
