Lemme say this about the "T." My guess is some guys are proud they've never stepped on the "T," but have given less than their best effort in a game or practice.
Were I coach I'd remove the stupid thing under the pretense of remodeling or whatever. Yes attention to detail matters, but making standards out of arbitrary things is always counterproductive in the long run.
