Title: Great Performances: Hambone Post by: VinnieVOL on July 24, 2013, 11:11:45 EDT Originally an African-American plantation dance that was brought from West Africa by slaves who performed it during their gatherings when no rhythm instruments were allowed due to fear of secret codes hidden in the drumming (per Wiki), hambone or "Juba dance" is a fascinating art that very few can do correctly. I think we all can agree that Steve Hickman provides the flare and showmanship one would look for in a hambone performance.
