26  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: So, does Ellis get Helms' scholly now? on: December 15, 2014, 07:08:40 EST
The Vols had depth at RB with Hurd, Lane, Pinkett, Scott, and Summerhill. But I've not seen UT have as deep at Running back since Stewart, Garner, and Hayden. Then there was Cobb and Webb but I can't remember who the third back was in the rotation. Can't forget about Lewis, Henry, and Stevens either. Who do you think the best group of backs were?
27  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Muschamp to Auburn on: December 15, 2014, 06:44:27 EST
These salaries for coaches is getting nuts.
28  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Kirkland..... on: December 15, 2014, 06:11:24 EST
is suppose to announce today who he's going to sign with. Has anyone heard anything? Also it's be great to get Phillips and Amadi as well. Would love to see Van Jefferson flip to Tennessee with Preston Williams coming in. But he took a visit to UGA last week too.
29  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Johnson and Williams turned over to the DA's office. on: December 15, 2014, 05:58:53 EST
According to SportsTalk they  wont be able to make the bowl game even if there are no charges because the Student disciplinary board does not meet until January. They've played their last down in a Vols uniform.
30  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Bo Pelini hired at Youngstown State? on: December 11, 2014, 07:53:55 EST
Thats a huge step down. IMO Pelini got screwed. 9 wins aint good enough? They fired Frank Solich too for just about the same reason.
31  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Gary Anderson leaves Wisconsin to go to Oregon State.... on: December 11, 2014, 07:27:11 EST
I caught a little about it on Sportstalk this morning and they were saying that they believe its a result of it being very difficult to work with Barry Alverez.
32  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Vols on: November 30, 2014, 02:51:03 EST
Yes, you're right.  I've been up to long and on a 4 day run of being sick, literally.
33  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Vols on: November 30, 2014, 01:15:57 EST
Vols should be playing for a 9th win tonight. They lost to UGA  and Florida by a total of 4 points.
34  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: UT crowd shouting Eric Berry during the break on: November 30, 2014, 01:09:31 EST
TV announcers said the same thing.
35  Sports / VTTW Message Board / once again on: November 30, 2014, 01:04:19 EST
We're seeing Dobbs come in and look like a world beater against Alabama only slowly digress with each game. O - line has really struggled this whole year. Offensive play calling is horrible.
36  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: How the heck did Tech tie the game with 18 secs to go? on: November 29, 2014, 10:52:54 EST
UGA squib kicked it but not deep enough. Tech returned it to the 50 then git a 21 yard run by the QB steeping O with 4 seconds left. Uh
37  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: It's great to see all those Gator fans disappointed today, right Will??? on: November 18, 2014, 06:48:59 EST
We can say what we want about Muschamp and alot of it is probably justified, but I don't think anybody can question his desire to win. He was and will be a very, very good defensive coordinator somewhere and it could be in SEC. If I was Steve Spurrior given the sorry defense the Gamecocks played this year I think Id be looking into getting Will Muschamp as my DC.
38  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Ut oh. on: November 17, 2014, 06:49:14 EST
Johnny, not pointing a finger at you specifically, but having a daughter I find it convenient to go there without having something concrete to use as a reason for doing so.  That's not to say that it hasn't happened - obviously it has - but to automatically blame the girl(s) here is looking through orange colored glasses, in my opinion.

If this were a Bama or Florida or LSU or you name the rival player I don't think the same fingers would be pointing at the girl(s) involved.

I can see how it came across as blaming the girls, but I really wasn't. If it were my daughter, and I have one too, I'd be pissed.

They've lost their minds.
40  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Ut oh. on: November 17, 2014, 06:17:52 EST
I'm not saying this did or did not happen but here's the problem I have with this. First off, its embarrassing for everyone involved. Second, it was two males and two females, whats to say that this was done with concent and the two girls decide later to say it was rape. It has happened before.
41  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Ut oh. on: November 17, 2014, 05:03:49 EST
I do believe that with the character that he has shown during his time at Tennessee this would shock everyone if true. Lets hope its not.
42  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: BRING BACK THE BEER BARREL! on: November 14, 2014, 07:55:12 EST
I agree. We had this discussion several years ago. Either go back to the beer barrel or go the Davy Crocket - Daniel Boone route and use a musket. Nothing wrong with that either. Wisconsin has the battle for Paul Bunyons Axe. No difference here.
43  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: I have always had an android phone. Someone sell me on the Apple I6. What is the on: November 14, 2014, 07:21:22 EST
main difference in the operating systems? I have had great service out of the android phones. Is one more user friendly than the other? I am a Samsung Galaxy fan. Just interested in the new iphone.
I've got the Galaxy S5 Active. nice phone. but for what ever reason no matter if i send a video through text or email or how long or short it is, from it it wants to reduce the size and it come across to the user with alot of pixels. Ive got a friend at church whose son is in the Pride of the Southland Band that sent his mom a full 10 minutes of video of the post game celebration with the players. It came across vividly clear. Im stumped.
44  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Herb I see the Cherokees won in the first round on: November 10, 2014, 06:23:14 EST
I live in Campbell County and played there in the late 70's. Campbell County will have their hands full in this game. In the fall of the year CC and SD scrimmaged and it was a close scrimmage. As a former football coach I have always felt the scrimmages don't really tell you much in the way of how a season will go because everyone is so vanilla. CC has struggled in stopping the run all year givnign up anywhere from 5 to 7 or 8 yards a pop. But the CC defense has a knack for bowing their necks the closer they get to the goal line. Their is no quit in the Campbell County team. I'm not going to make a public prediction for this game but I'll just stick woith my former statement that Campbell County will have their hands full this coming Friday night. I want so bad for my Cougars to win.
45  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Herb on: November 07, 2014, 07:42:46 EST
Would love to get to Powell to coach. I interviewed there with the HC who took over just after Duncan left, its been so long I can't even remember his name, and he was going to hire me but he got out of education and into local politics.
46  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Herb on: November 07, 2014, 04:38:00 EST
Powell is very uncharacteristically bad this year. I was shocked at how bad they are but even more shocked when they came to Campbell County and saw how few players they had on the sideline. Whats going on over there? What are the chances they go after Matt Lowe to get him back? Powell is a gold mine in the right hands.

I thought I saw you doing the Vol Walk during the Florida game. Did you?
48  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: It's official. Worley is out for the remainder of the season.... on: November 05, 2014, 03:12:44 EST
I hate it for the man. Worley really did give it his best shot. Dooley screwed him over by playing when he didnt need to. I've had a torn larum and I know what it feels like to even try to throw with one thats torn. It is very fainful. He'll do fine with the rehab. I hope he gets a shot at the next level. He truly is a Vol For Life.
49  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Bad news,Bama won,good news,we have a qb that gives us on: October 28, 2014, 07:58:03 EDT
Dobbs came off the bench last year in the Alabama game and looked like a world beater. His performance in each game after that was not good. It will take alot more than one game with Dobbs to convince me hes giving TN a chance to win and get to a bowl game.
50  Sports / VTTW Message Board / Re: Honestly folks, which remaining opponents besides Vandy do you think we beat? on: October 23, 2014, 08:13:54 EDT
When I looked at the schedule for this year with what the Vols had coming back I thought UT could win anywhere from 3 to 6 games but leaned heavily on the 3 win side. The reality of this years team is this up until the Ole Miss game. Tennessee was two plays away from being 4-1. Against UGA the Vols scored a TD on their first drive and a FG on the second drive that really should have been a TD. Marlin Lane was wide open somewhere between teh 5 and 10 and Worley overthrew him for an easy score that would have put it at 14-0 at that point. The final score should have been 36-35 Tennessee had Worley not overthrown that ball. In the Florida game if Tennessee had converted just one of those redzone attempts into a TD it would've been a Vols victory. Even with the youth nobody espected Tennessee to be as competitive as they have been this year. As far as Im concerned team 118 has not shown that they will back down from anybody and I've not seen them quit and I dont expect them to. As fans we want to see them win, but there is not a single fan of the Big Orange that wants to see them win as much as the players and staff want to win. All we do is watch and bitch about stuff. They, the staff and players, are the ones trying to do something about it. Do I have my concerns, yes but I'm not the one making the decisions. I'm behind this team and this staff. Go Vols, Go Team 118! Go out and shock the freakin' world.
