Those of you who like to read between the lines should have some fun with the last paragraph.

I may shed a tear if Pearl winds up coaching in the SEC against Tennessee.

You can tell how fond of Tennessee that man still is. Sigh.

I know it won't happen but I wish they would hire him back if Martin doesn't work out.

Regardless I hope he gets to coach and beat Matta more.

He paid a dear price.  I think Hamilton did the right thing and had no choice.  But the thing I cannot forget, after all this came out, he continues to own up to his mistake.  How many people, in any job or any situation, will say "I was wrong.  I made a mistake?".  Because of that, I would like to see him be able to get back into a good coaching job.  I like Conzo, but should that not work out, I do not thing it would be wise, for Pearl or UT, for him to ever be considered for the UT job.  I just think the past would be a hurdle neither could climb over.

I hope Martin is super successful this season, but if not, I would be all for hiring Pearl back.  I think it could be done since UT has new administration.  I think the fans would be behind it.  I would be all for it.

Barring unforeseen attrition, all of the pieces should be in place for Martin. I expect a very successful year. I just can't see Pearl as our coach again... not that I would be opposed.

I don't think there's anything to read there except he loves Tenn. I hope wherever he goes he stays out of the SEC.

I live in Athens. It sounds to me like the situation at UGA sounds like what he is looking, and I think it would be easy for UGA to fire Mark Fox after another .500 season with no NCAA birth, both of which are likely.  I'd hate to see it happen. I guess the only bright side is I would have the opportunity to watch good basketball being played nearby for a change.
