I guess this is the new normal. Saw a tweet earlier today that each team in D1 hoops (all 300+ of them) averages nearly 3 players in the portal right now.

It's not enough for a coach to just recruit HS players anymore. You have to recruit the portal as well. You also have to recruit your own players to keep them OUT of the portal.

But if we lose Pember and Gaines and trade them for Powell and a certain former 5* big man from a traditional ACC powerhouse, I'd make that deal all day long. :naughty:

The NCAA has got to get a grip on the transfer thing.  Between the portal and one and dones rosters are completely flipping every year in a lot of cases. 

As I heard discussed this week, big time college basketball is becoming an extension of AAU basketball.  Players going to where they can get the best deal every year.
