Title: Since nobody asked ... Post by: PirateVOL on November 27, 2012, 04:49:54 EST My prefereces for HC:
1. Strong 2. Patterson 3. Mora 4. Fisher 5. Who cares One might note a common background of the top 3, I think that a key issue in the hire. If the new HC desires, he can maintain the offensive staff as is (I would replace Coiner). I think Chaney is a good OC. One can question play calling at any given time but I believe he effectively used the tools he had and that resulted in the 2nd highest yardage total in ur history. Pittman did a very good job with the OL as did Graham with the RBs. I'm not as sold on Hinshaw but he also is the recruiting coordinator and retaining him would help retain the class IMO. If we could snag Tee and perhaps move Hinshaw to TE coach that would improve the one area on the offensive staff that requires improvement. With a defensive minded HC then retool the defense as he sees fit. Perhaps Conklin could be retained but otherwise clean house and establish a new defensive scheme and staff. I wouldn't mind Jimbo Fisher at UT Title: Re: Since nobody asked ... If he can turn over the OC duties to an OC then I think his team/game management skills are more than good enoughBTW, Gruden mania would be a splah hire that ultimately would be a huge mistake. |
