...They didn't waste any time.  Their game just ended a few minutes ago.

Now that's just cold.

What did they do, grab him as he walked off the field?

Must have.  Apparently the media found out about it while they were waiting for him to come out for his postgame presser.

Well, he did have the advantage of going to the team with the lowest expectations.  He's broken through to an extent this year- but his first 3-4 years at UK would've gotten him fired at UT or Arky.

In his words, at his post game presser, "as I came off the field"

At Arkansas, the athletic board (or whatever it is called) is calling all the shots. They fired the AD earlier after a meeting where it is said they told the Chancellor or President of UA to fire the AD or the board would get them fired. So they have the interim AD fire the Head Coach and the interim AD announces that she will lead the search and hire the new coach without a committee on her own. Such a great situation there. The new coach is going to be hired by an interim AD that will not be his boss in the future. He will be working for some unidentified power cliche on the board that will fire anyone they please with zero accountability. By all appearances, it would look like they are sure they can hire Gus Malzahn no matter what happens in the Iron Bowl.

At least Bielma got to go into the locker room and tell his players he got fired walking off the field. What class the interim AD showed to prove she is a toothless guard dog doing the bidding of her owners! So what will she say to the power brokers when the big name coaches say no thanks to her? Will they fire her and get another lackey to do the dirty work? But at least the new coach will know that he is actually working not for the university, but for the power brokers on the board.

On a different note, man Mizzou turned their season around. They started 1-5. Ended up 7-5. Teams are supposed to improve as the season progresses. Vols have missed that memo in recent years.
