Statement from UT

After receiving Monday's COVID-19 test results, the Tennessee men's basketball program is extending its pause on team activities.

The Volunteers will not travel to Indianapolis for next week's Jimmy V Classic, where they were scheduled to face top-ranked Gonzaga. Tennessee also will not play at Notre Dame on Dec. 4—a game that had been reported but was never officially announced due to the contract not yet being finalized.

Barring additional setbacks, the program aims to return to action on Saturday, Dec. 5, with its first game currently set for Dec. 12 against Cincinnati at Thompson-Boling Arena.

Well, there goes most of our non-conference SOS. Hope the selection committee takes these things into account this March. :banghead:

This is our reality now. No amount of wishing, hoping, and ignoring to live is a fantasy land is going to help. A monster virus is lose in the world and life is not normal. If the basketball season continues, it will be May madness and not March madness.

When the vaccine is released and deemed effective, go get a shot to protect yourself and those in the public. Don't ne an idiot and spread the virus to us old people.

Several games scheduled for today were cancelled this morning.

This is going to be the norm in 20/21 basketball.
