The Wade twins could be intriguing. I defer to those who know more. 'nough said Our 3rd string edge is better than the (good) edge twin IMO Title: Re: Transfer Portal Infil Post by: Cobbvol on December 04, 2023, 11:51:02 EST From the CBS Sports Cover 3 podcast ... If Garner wants Nolan then so do I.
Chip: Is Texas A&M defensive lineman Walter Nolan, former 5-star product, someone who really came on as a dominant player this year, would you say that's the top defensive option in the portal right now? Bud: Yes, as of this moment. He is ready-made, impact defensive lineman. There's not a lot of guess work there. The guy is a stud. He'll get a huge bag wherever he goes. Chip: It will be like when he was a recruit and all the big boys were there ready to pull it together for him. Cash in twice, good for you. Tom: So which SEC team is he gonna end up at? Georgia? Alabama? Texas? [laughs] Bud: I think maybe another orange team. Tom: ...Clemson? Chip: Syracuse! Bud: Tennessee. He's from there, they recruited him hard the first time. I don't have a crystal ball pick in for it, but yeah. Tom: Tennessee from Texas A&M? Is that an upgrade? Chip: Texas A&M is losing a lot. Tom: If I'm him, and I can go anywhere that I please... maybe it's just a thing where he wants to be closer to home, but if I can get a bag and play for a title contender it would be weird for me to go to Tennessee. But whatever. Bud: When we did the show this past summer talking to different collective groups, I tried to pick ones that have good reputations, and Tennessee's has a really good reputation. The opportunities at Tennessee, especially if you're from there, could be pretty significant. But schools like Oklahoma and Texas, that's a big position of need for them. Miami is another one. He is going to be a coveted target for everyone. Title: Re: Transfer Portal Infil Post by: PirateVOL on December 05, 2023, 12:25:10 EST From the CBS Sports Cover 3 podcast ... Nolan has talent to be sure, but he has a greater amount of baggage that he carries around Title: Re: Transfer Portal Infil Post by: PirateVOL on December 05, 2023, 02:09:28 EST Looks like the staff going in heavy the 1st portal weekend.
Several visitors, including a couple TEs (#1 priority IMO) and a WR I suspect more might be coming as well Title: Re: Transfer Portal Infil Post by: Cobbvol on December 06, 2023, 12:58:09 EST According to On3, Tennessee and Texas are emerging as schools to watch in the recruitment of South Carolina transfer Juice Wells.
You have to like this as I still have nightmares of him going wild against two years ago. Title: Re: Transfer Portal Infil Post by: Cobbvol on December 06, 2023, 01:12:34 EST Also something to keep an eye on, OU's Nate Anderson entered the transfer portal yesterday. He is the older brother of UT commit Max Anderson.
Title: Re: Transfer Portal Infil Post by: PirateVOL on December 07, 2023, 03:16:34 EST Per Joly, he is no longer visiting this weekend
Sounds like we have moved on from him I think the major effort will be for the ND TE, Staes. He is more a true TE Joly is more a hybrid TE/WR type, while good, we need a blocker for the running game who can catch Title: Re: Transfer Portal Infil Post by: BanditVol on December 07, 2023, 04:28:51 EST I'll take Nolen in a heart beat. Garner can keep him in line if anyone can. :powert:

It wouldn't hurt.

I can see a couple changes on the staff...Martinez comes to mind, but given the improvement this season over last, I am happy with the massive improvement. If we improve by that amount again next season, we will be a top 10 defense. I guess we will see. |
