Yep, tore the tendon away from the bone and tore each of the muscles in the hamstring muscle group. Consultation with surgeon tomorrow (today) now. When I decide to do something, apparently I do it all the way! ;-)

This  happened on Sunday, while water skiing .

Sounds like he will not be at UT vs anybody anytime soon....that is a very painful injury and I will be praying for his total recovery.

Having had a similar hamsting injury, he will prbably be on inured reserve till the UGA game, not counting the time for the tendon reattachment.
In any case painful.
Best wishes to a speedy recovery for Tony!

Thanks everyone.  I may not need surgery after all.  I have an appointment with a specialist scheduled for Tuesday back in Northern Virginia.  According to the surgeon at the Knoxville Orthopedic Clinic, the "complete" tendon tear may actually be a "nearly complete" tear and the muscle tears should heel over time as usual.  So, there's still a chance, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed.  Thanks again for the kind words.

I can let you borrow a wheelchair for Saturday if you need something to help you out at the game/tailgate......

Well, it looks like surgery is back in the lead.    As it turns out, I also tore the adductor muscles in my leg in addition to the hamstrings and tendon.     I should know something by tomorrow unless I seek another opinion, and surgery could be next week.  Fun, fun, fun!
