Here is one thing that has always bugged me. The team comes running through the "T" and the crowd goes crazy. But before the team has completely cleared the "T", the opposing team comes out and a large part of the crowd boos. Now, I'm not against booing the opposing team, but I wish the crowd would keep cheering the Vols and keep the noise level up.

Totally agree.  They should stop their booing, and start throwing D-cells at them.

Just kidding.  Well, except when we play the gata or bammer.  Then they should totally throw D-cells. :naughty:

Total block in the back on that kick return, but fortunately they blocked us right into the ball carrier.

So apparently Derek Barnett had 20 sacks last season.  That's pretty strong. :dunno:

So I'm gonna go ahead and say that this "collaborative replay" bullshizzle isn't working. :bird:

Does that mean that JRM is out for the next game too?

Also, if Dobbs isn't going to run, he's not worth playing.

Agree we don't need to worry about protecting him at this point.  His short passing game has looked sharp.  Now if only he could throw over 10-15 yards reliably  :frown:

No.   Had the foul occurred in the second half, he would have had to sit the first half of VaTech.

Uh, I could've sworn you can't review a play after the next play has been snapped.  I think these refs are just making it up as they go along. :bird:

Let me add though, that the pass catch overturn was horse shizzle.  We got a play off, for chrisakes.  :mad:

Yeah, I think it's gotta be blown dead on the field, which didn't happen.

Regardless, a better throw negates the need. Also, Richmond and Thomas are having brutal nights.

If you look at it, this was a perfect first half script for Appy State.   The idiotic turnover by Cam kept us from getting really good field position and spotted them a score.   Then we got (IMO) screwed out of a TD on the first drive.  Then we just kind of sucked at protecting Dobbs on a couple other dirves.  Meantime they were able to run the clock.

As I said a couple days ago, they have a decent offense.  I expected them to get about one long TD drive per half, and taking away the TO, that's what they got.

It's up to our offense to score, because I don't see them scoring a whole lot more without more TOs.

Also, I wanted to add that this type of game is perfect for them.  Their strength is running the ball.  Had we taken an early lead and forced them to pass, I believe the situation would be quite different.

Thomas has been abused all night - one of the worst performances I've seen from a TN lineman.  

We're -2 in turnovers, and cannot move the ball. In fairness, our offense is always clunky.

A friend of mine and I have a saying: We love college football season. And we hate it.

What a way to win.  Three fumble recoveries in the second half.  Thank God we must practice falling on the ball.

Some bright spots, but the road ahead is looking much tougher.     :doh:

And let me be specific...other than the deer in the headlights first drive after the fumble, the one long drive, and about a dozen jet sweeps/options, the D played lights out even without JRM.  And while they are not an SEC team, make no mistake they have a pretty good offense.

Josh Malone did catch one long pass...thank God!  But you know, go back and watch the second half of last season highlights.  He had key passes against bammer, uga, usc jr, and I think also Mizzou.   It was easy to miss his emergence because he didn't get as much PT earlier in the year and so his total stats sucked (but then again so did every other WR).

Finally, our kickers had a solid game and were literally the difference. Without the missed FG (understandable for a true frosh on the road from 42) and most critically, extra point, we lose.
