You beat me to the punch, so I'll just have to tag Scott with the obligatory "VFL" in this reply.

We may need him to play this year with Lane and Hurd. I am still assuming we sign Paulk, but he will be redshirting due to the ACL tear. Getting another RB was a priority and this one is a great way to fill that hole. He's very different from Hurd.

I guess I'm taking quite a leap of faith by assuming these guys' potential will translate to success, but who would've thought that runningback could become a strength so quickly?

On offense we have, in theory, improved every skill position (other than QB) significantly with our EE/commitments. If they are able to come in and play effectvely and our OL is at least OK the offense should greatly improve. I do think QB play will improve this year, no matter who ends up being the starter. But the key is the need to coach them up and to avoid injuries. We are still very, very thin

That is a leap of faith, but the only RBs we signed in the last 4 years that were actually rated reasonably highly are Lane and Neal, and they were both solid contributors (though not the studs you want in the SEC). It's reasonable to expect some success from these new guys, who are rated just as highly (Paulk and Scott) or much higher (Hurd).

I was going post-Kiffin, but that's a fair point.

Still thin, but bringing in 30+ guys with so many EE helps a whole lot in several areas, and adds a ton of athleticism too. Two more well rounded classes and the holes are filled.

We haven't had a truly dominant ground game since 2001. We've brought in 5* guys like Houston, Riggs, and Brown, but none of them have lived up to their promise. I'm ready for that to change. When you can run the ball effectively, it makes every other part of the game so much easier.

We had two really good years back to back of that, and it was nice to see for a change. In fact, I believe this past year was the best since 2001 or maybe even earlier.
