I guess it depends on which direction you're coming from. I head north on I-75 after the game, so I avoid the west end like a plague. Too many hours stuck in traffic over there for my liking. If I arrive at campus early enough, there's a pay lot on Poplar Street (behind the United Methodist Church off of Henley Street) that I like. It's expensive as pay lots go ($25) but it's close to the stadium, yet still an easy out if you're headed north or east. I always park there when I have the kids en tow so that we don't have a long hike.

Title: Tailgate is Moving

Due to the money blood suckers at the UT Federal Credit Union going up to $30 per space minimum I have been reevaluating Tailgate parking.  I have found a lot on the Corner of Clinch and James Agee (15th street) that is only 40 per space but is light years closer to the stadium.  I will now be tailgating in that location due to the closeness of that lot as well as the Credit Union screwing over their loyal parking base for the past fifteen plus years.  If they want to screw people over then I want no part in urging people to park there and have to walk almost 3/4 to 1 mile to get to the stadium.  When we first started parking at that lot it was 5 per space, then it went to ten for a long time, then 20, but when they make every space 30 per it is time to reevaluate the options.

Therefore for the S Alabama game and at least for the rest of this year the tailgate will be at the the lot at the corner of James Agee and Clinch Avenue.  This is only 4 short blocks to the stadium.

I head east on I40 after the game.  I usually park for free on the street in the Old City.  I ride the shuttle to and from the stadium.  I hit I40 quick and easy after the game.

Cool, but do you get to eat and drink for a donation to the cause? That is why Emeril's is the best place to be. There's a plasma tv to watch earlier games, great food and VTTW bretheren & sisteren to get "game-ready" with. Just sayin'.

I do need to go to more of the tailgates, but I'd prolly still park at the Old City.

I used to park on the east side of the campus and head east on Cumberland after the game and take the Henley bridge south because I usually stay with my folks in S Knox county when I go to the games.  3-4 years ago they quit letting people turn left on Cumberland on that end of the campus and I started parking on the west side and taking Alcoa.      highway...which is not nearly as good a route for me.   Then I realized that I might as well park south of the Henley bridge and walk across it and that worked really well...then they closed that!  lol...the city of Knoxville screws me no matter what I do.
