Way too early to blame coaching.....well, this coaching staff. The talent DOES NOT EXIST for the SEC. No coach could pull out miracles from this team. No talent + no depth = sucky team!
Well said. My thoughts exactly.

Not because we lost. I expected that. In fact I had already accepted the fact that this year would suck. What shocks and depresses me is this: We have absolutely no big play makers. If we do, they haven't shown it yet.
Even considering what happened to UT with the coaching changes (and the coaches themselves), I'm still amazed at how little talent we really have.
If Butch can get anything out of this group this year, it will be a great job. Otherwise there's no way to really judge how the coaching staff is doing because of how little they have to work with.
In the meantime, we'll have to slog though a difficult season. And drink more wine.

If he is too stupid or lazy to be able to find food at a major university athletic program, his credibility about anything is in question. I would think food is the last thing they would have trouble obtaining.
And if the money allegation is true, once again it is proof positive that giving rule-breaking extra benefits to these guys is nothing but trouble. They will roll over on you in a minute. Now that's certainly not the main reason you shouldn't do it. But it certainly should be considered by those tempted to do so.
One other point. I think that ever since he left UT he has held a grudge. I read an interview of him sometime back in which he took offense to being perceived as a fumbler while at UT. He knew UT fans held it against him that he fumbled in some crucial situations but he didn't feel like he fumbled that much.

I've heard it said and I believe it.. if Texas comes in with an $8 million per year offer it will take Alabama five seconds to raise it to $10. Don't you guys think Bama can match any offer out there?
I don't think it would be about money. At Bama he knows that for Bama fans they have to be in the NC picture or it's a bust. At Texas he can rebuild a program and fans will be happy for improvement for the first couple of years. It's pressure to stay where he is and it's pressure to rebuild a program. But when you're rebuilding, expectations are tempered for a while.

Was that you who won the 400 million dollar Powerball? They said that the ticket was bought in Lexington. If so, remember, I'm like the son you never had.

Anything is possible. But not probable.
The tiglets' only challenges for the rest of the season are Florida State and South Carolina. And Carolina had better stiffen up the defense before that game.
danged tiglets.

But I came in after a nice day on the lake and decided to check it out and see how badly we were being beat. But lo and behold it was in the second quarter and we were down only 17-7. And we had the ball! Then the bottom fell out. I just knew it. I should have never turned on the TV. It might be my fault. Except for the fact I wasn't playing in the defensive secondary.

Here's what I'm thinking....one of these Fridays on which you leave at 11:30, you travel to beautiful Lake Secession to prepare massive quantities of food, wine and fine tobacco products for a big VTTW get together. What do you think?
I'll tell my friends who own the house to do that. A married couple, one is a Gamecock, the other a tiglet. I'm sure they would welcome a gang of Vols to spend the weekend.

I will be leaving the office at 11:30 today, as usual on Friday, and traveling to beautiful Lake Secession. As always, massive quantities of food, wine and fine tobacco products will be consumed.
Thank you. That is all. Carry on.

JM is a punkass youngster that needs a good ass kickin. And I hope he gets it on October 19th. But not even the assholiness of JM can make me pull for bammer. War Damn Aggies!
Charles Barkley said today that he's so sick of Manziel that he might pull for Bama.

I guess I'm not really surprised of the reports that this happened, but I still can't help but be shocked at how blatant it was/is in this day and age. Boosters walking around handing out cash in broad daylight in front of everyone else? In the 21st century? Wow.
I'm not sure to what extent I believe this story. It is really blatant and would take idiots to do it so much out in the open. Several players who were reported as accepting money denied it. No surprise. And it was pointed out in the ESPN story that at least five of those who said they received money had eventually been kicked off the team. Perhaps they held a grudge. Perhaps the whole thing is true. I too find it hard to believe that anyone today or in the last 10 years would be so open and bold. But I guess it's possible.
