Better days will come! I have a sweatshirt in my closet from of my school years that says "I am Vol fan that survived the 1988 season", and have keep it all these years for some reason. I guess 1988 begin 0-6 was rock bottom of my Tennessee fandom I saw 5 of 6 myself including the 28-17 loss at UGA from the UGA student section. I have always thought of next 2 1/2 years as the foundation for what happen in the 90's from mid-88 to 90 (25-3-2) 1 Cotton Bowl and 1 Sugar Bowl. 1985 nobody saw that coming after Tony Robinson was hurt I thought we might win 1 or 2 more games. 1985 was so much fun just because we had been so bad so long in ways 1985 was watching the ultimate underdog win. Tennessee football is a long history of greatness followed by spurts of gnashing your teeth, when we turn the corner sometimes you get a nice long run :).

I never step to far out on a limb with season predictions, this year even less because I can think of so many factors I think is key to 2012 that are just plain question marks until the season starts:

1. Hunter off ACL (that fact was the biggest turning point to me last year)
2. Leathers Ankle (After the season you hear just how big a factor HL leadership was to this D)
3. New Coaches (Secret to Fulmer's success was staff stability)
4. Da'Rick factor (I am pro Da'Rick 1000's times over, but Da'Rick was/is a hard case to understand)
5. 3-4 adjustment (not a simple adjustment)
6. Smith, Brewer Etc. (How fast do they adjust to new positions, and I am of the school Smith and Brewer are 2 big winners from 3-4)
7. JUCO Guys (Looking at Bryon Moore Jr last year I thought he was SEC ready the day he signed, but didn't happen that way)
8. CB's (My biggest question mark from last year was CB play, and I thought we had talent and was not playing near that talent)
9. Bray (I compare Tyler to EA mystery thou EA came back and had an nice year the next year)
10, Lane/Neal/Bourque (Lane 2 years off ACL, Neal from Doghouse back to TB and Bourque freshman we need 18-20 per game from 1 or 3)
11. Could be many more?

I guess most teams have issue after 3 day of spring football, and I have promised myself no prediction in 2012! I do enter optimistic, but cautiously.

I am going this year for one BIG reason! My daughter Annalee will be 2 the week of the spring game, and she is in love with Smokey. I am wanting to get a pictures of her with Smokey either real or big stuff one :) I can use that about 16 years from now if she wants to go to any school in state of  Alabama as blackmail

Well...the Titans cut Joey Kent and wouldn't pay Albert Haynesworth what he wanted so...Ef them!!

I always thought Peyton would do what he thought was best for him and his career, and I think alot people assumed the Titans would be a slam dunk forgot the fact that Peyton's decision to attend UT shocked angered a lot folks at Ole Miss 100 times more than this. I want hear Peyton speak at some point, but I can't think but to believe Elway and Fox play a huge part in this. I think Denver started first, and finished first, but the Niners and Titans gave PM the full court press. Dolphins was never in it, and Cards was in, but out quickly for some reason.

Of the three it makes the least sense to me.  SF offered a chance to be an immediate Super Bowl contender, and TN offered the comfort of home. 

Oh well, I'll be rooting for Denver next year.

1. John Fox is players coach type of guy---He is willing to adjust to whatever gets W.
2. Solid ownership
3. John Elway role in the day to day of Broncos is much more than most fans believe.
4. Good O line
5. Very good mix of skill people
RB's McGahee, Morneo, and Lance Ball best set backs PM has ever had
Wr's have 2 big pieces in place with Eric Decker and Demaryius Thomas both 3rd year players, and Thomas finally healthy.
6. Cap Space now and in the near futrue

I do feel Niners are Super Bowl ready team, but if I was looking at 4-5 window I like the Broncos better

 I think Denver has been choice #1 the whole time, but Titans and Niners gave PM something to think about.

I hate the ideal of Nov. baseball we will have it this year. 2013 they are suppose to adjust the timing. 2012 a strange fluke is the higher seed team will open the 1st round of playoffs @ the wildcard winning teams home field so if the Phillies win 100 games and Braves win 85 and win the wildcard round the Phillies woud possibly have 1 home game game 1 @ wild card winner game 2 @ wild card winner game 3 @ higher seed game  same with game 4 and 5. Possible a division winner is only gurantee 1 home game.

Well under Bruce I could understand, but I was expecting the curtains to be hung in front of the upper levels of TBA this year.

I said the same thing I about 100 times. Basketball was fun this year, and I think even some the media talking heads have been shocked by the job done this year by the staff. One thing about us Vols fan we have learned the last few years to enjoy the success because frankly CCM is the bright spot for me in the last few years of train wrecks. I think we have made a good hire in baseball too CDS seems to have excitement at all-time high alot chatter about baseball.

There are reports circulating online that former WWF star Doug Furnas passed away in his sleep Friday night. He was 50 years old.
 The first report is from David Haskins, a Tennessee based wrestler. He said he received the information from Doug's brother Mike Furnas, who was also a wrestler.
 
Furnas was a college football player at the University of Tennessee who became one of the greatest powerlifters of all-time as he broke more than two dozen world records. He crossed over to professional wrestling in 1986 with Knoxville, Tennessee based promotion Continental Championship Wrestling, which led him to a career all over the world. Furnas was a fixture in All Japan Pro Wrestling with Phil Lafon (a/k/a Dan Kroffat) and they were considered one of the best tag teams of the 1990s. Their supreme talent led to employment with the World Wrestling Federation and Extreme Championship Wrestling in the late 1990s. Furnas also worked for World Championship Wrestling in 1990 as a singles competitor.
 
Furnas had battled Parkinson's disease for a number of years. The degenerative disorder forced him to retire in 2000.

Do you guys realize that if we win out, and UF loses out (they close at Vandy and home vs UK, so this is very possible) we win the tiebreaker for the #2 seed?

I still contend that we need a first round game, so I don't want a top 4 seed.  But for CCM to take this team to second place in the league would be a huge accomplishment, and should put him in contention for SEC COY.

Just read the link wow! I can't believe we are even discussing this after late Dec and early Jan. I have no doubt CCM now will recruit (no Ncaa hanging around and he has created a nice buzz) and was a very good hire. I am excited for CCM and the program.

Niners- Harbaugh said "Alex Smith is our guy" could change always.
Cards---Invested a lot in Kevin Kolb at best he gets "F" or incomplete for 2011.
Titans---Why? If you were Peyton come home and anything less than great is 10 times blown up.
Jets-----Asking MS to sit seems impossible to me without killing his career.
Redskins---MS and DS seems like a train wreck waiting to happen.
Colts-------He is gone. I think Peyton wants to stay very much.
Dolphins ---Most wide open IMO and a good bit of talent.
Chiefs----I haven't thought about it much, but seems like the Dolphins maybe a bit more talent. Cassell has play well at times.
Retirement--Only if he can't play at acceptable level to him.

My gut tells me Cards or Dolphins.  I would hate the Jets or Redskins just my bias.

How much media do you think will be at a side session with your ex-college Coach?

I have always held to this veiw of recruiting:

1. How many players you bring in
2. Cross Section of star rankings
3. Impact players

It's all part of the master plan to bring Peyton to your beloved TITANS. Then you can hate Bud Adams when he cuts him in a few years.

Tyler and Da'Rick have got to re-build thier image in the eyes of NFL or coming out early is risky at best. Justin just got prove he is healed. The NFL teams do thier homework, Tyler was #1 or #2 last year prior to the season on a couple 2013 mock players rankings now out of the top 20. The talk is CP is one and done guy, while not impossible it takes Cam Newton type year. Tyler is not NFL ready, but you never know what a kid is thinking. As the season plays out we will see, but wouldn't shock me to see 2 of 3 wr head to the NFL.

I made the mistake of reading some of the TOS, I blame myself I knew better .

Wow. 21 Kids want to play football at UT after 5-7 and 6-7, and 21 kids that other programs dug just as hard to get.

They are my kids now! I hope VFL and all get degrees. I am happy all facts considered with this class.

I just need me an Bourque jersey :) personally favorite in the class which I learned reading other sites isn't big time back like we "used" to get.
