per reports.

"On Friday, middle linebacker Darrin Kirkland Jr. sustained a non-contact knee injury in practice that will sideline the junior for the opener against Georgia Tech — and possibly longer — sources told VolQuest.com.

The full-extent of Kirkland’s injury is unknown at this time, but there’s fear that the linebacker may miss significant time."

I wouldn't worry too much.  When it comes to defending the triple option, the MLB isn't that important anyw...oh wait.

Torn meniscus.

Related story linked there also says that Richmond could be out for the GaTech game.

No program is this unlucky across multiple years. At some point it becomes more than coincidence.

More yet.....We lose players at positions we can't afford to lose folks but do. I saw this tongue in cheek post posted on TOS last night that sums it up.

"Everybody calm down. This is exactly why we sign one linebacker every year-- to be prepared for situations like this."

A week or two ago Richmond and Kirkland were both rumored to be out for GT for various reasons. Presumably contingency plans are in place.

I think you mean Bituli.  Richmond isn't mentioned at all in the link.

Sophomore middle linebacker Daniel Bituli also has been hampered by a knee injury and has had to miss practice time.

I was going to try and find a clip of him falling down and the bridge blowing up, but I thought that would be over doing it!

I love that movie.....
