"On Friday, middle linebacker Darrin Kirkland Jr. sustained a non-contact knee injury in practice that will sideline the junior for the opener against Georgia Tech — and possibly longer — sources told VolQuest.com. The full-extent of Kirkland’s injury is unknown at this time, but there’s fear that the linebacker may miss significant time." |

More yet.....We lose players at positions we can't afford to lose folks but do. I saw this tongue in cheek post posted on TOS last night that sums it up. "Everybody calm down. This is exactly why we sign one linebacker every year-- to be prepared for situations like this." |

A week or two ago Richmond and Kirkland were both rumored to be out for GT for various reasons. Presumably contingency plans are in place.
