I don't think anyone can credibly defend Butch anymore. The better question is what is best for the program now? Is a new coach the answer (and if so who?) or is another year of Butch necessary for stability and financial reasons? Again, I don't know how you can intelligently argue that Butch will win championships at UT.
What potential coach out there would be an improvement? Would you take Les Miles?

I wouldn't take Miles, but I am now on the Fire Butch Jones bandwagon for the first time. Do it now and get the inevitable over with. We know it's going to happen eventually anyway.

We just got beat by Vandy.....Mason....and a team of 2 stars with very few 3 stars.

I'd take Dan Mullens over Butch right freaking now. Laugh all you want...he gets more out of less than anybody.

Edit: Not saying that's who we should hire if Butch packed his bags.....but I'd take Mullen over Butch in a nano second. Butch will never get it done here...saw that many moons ago along with several others.
