The good: The punting game was outstanding Twice we pinned them inside the 5
The rest of the kicking game, as well as the entirety of the defense and offense was a total and complete fizzleing disaster
Defense: We never, repeat NEVER covered the wheel route Several times the front 6 and the back end were NOT on the same page The LBs were slow and took bad angle several times The DL was GASHED in the run game The pass rush was ok (I think 3 sacks?) but often, especially in the first half we couldn?t contain. The ends were crashing inside. Baron was a non factor most of the game Twice we allowed the QB to break out for long gains on 3rd down inside the their 5 I thought the corners played ok, the safeties not so much I never once thought we could stop them, at any point in he game
Offense: Joe threw very well early but regressed as the game proceeded, seemed not to handle the pressure of the moment very well Seemed undecided a lot We abandoned the run game early The loss of Thornton hurt us badly, suspect he is out for the year
The OL performed reasonable well, they were not the issue today
Coaching: The defense had no answers, nor adjustments For the 3rd game in a row we were late calling the defense,at least 3 times we were not ready to play at the snap Heup?s worst game since he has been here, by far, with his game plan and play calling We abandoned the run Their defensive pre-snap alignment was begging us to run, yet we didn?t We had pass routes available early that we abandoned as the game went along Protection was adequate for deep shots but, like at UF, but we?re not attempted
NTW, was the this the first game in 3 years we NEBER went for it on 4th down?
We will not be playing in FL on the 1st, at 8-4
Next week we are stuck with the hand we have However, the 25th I?d like to see is prepare for 2024 as much as we can

Excellent, sad writeup
I thought Nimrod and Webb played hard. Both had contested catches on perfect throws.

Just a shame that Thorton has finally started living up to his billing and is now injured. Pirate I hope you are wrong about him being out.
The silver lining may be that we get both McCoy and Thornton back next year.
And a legacy guy like Coop might just join the party too. Hopefully he can get some really good NIL deal.

Pay Cooper whatever it takes to get him to return.
As an aside, as bad as the defense was they still "only" gave up 29. That shouldn't be an insurmountable figure.

Good write up...and spot on.
I will add we showed very little effort and want to. I can take getting beat in a dogfight...I can't handle bending over and taking it up the backside and then asking for another. We have too many of these types and reminds me of some bad coaching by some of our misfit coaches. Not a good feeling.

it can be if you don't have a QB

Yeah, and that starts with our QB. He seems to be unconcerned by just about anything that happens, and also unable to handle mental pressure of any kind. Not a great combination. He's not as bad as JG (is anyone?) but the combination of stellar physical skills and very sub-par mental skills/mindset is amazing. Your GitmoMilton nickname is very appropriate, unfortunately.

With the way GA throws to their TE and RB's, #44 is going to have a long day next Saturday.
