Title: Hot damn..Gonzaga beat Duke. Now if we play and beat Kansas Friday

we could challenge for #1 in the nation. Gonzaga will be for now.

Plus it will end all of the sportscasters asking each other "think Duke  will go undefeated."  I never thought they would. Sometimes all those young players, play like young players. Ask Calipari.

How do small schools like Gonzaga get better players than most SEC schools get?  Basketball is one sport that the small schools can compete with the big schools.

I'll take a model like Gonzaga where they get good...smart...high basketball IQ players who stay 3-4-5 years in the program any day over a team full of 1 and done players all day long.

Now...I'll take 1 or 2 one and done sprinkled in too. :biggrin:

Lot of available talent for 5 starters, 13 total schollies.

How do small schools like Gonzaga get better players than most SEC schools get?  Basketball is one sport that the small schools can compete with the big schools.

That, plus hoops recruiting rankings are a racket. A lot of it depends on which AAU team you play for. It's easy for really good players to slip through the cracks if they wear the wrong brand of shoe, play for the wrong AAU coach, or (gasp!) don't play AAU at all.
