I was there when it earned the name of "Streaking Capital of the World". No, I didn't streak.

I ate lunch almost every other day at Sam & Andy's/Roman Room or Regas on 17th. A Volburger and a Pabst Blue Ribbon tall boy at the Roman Room.

I ate midnight snacks at the Krystal.

I was up there for the Vandy game in 2021- my first home game in 4-5 years. The West end of the strip was unrecognizable. Now I guess there are plans to do the same for the East end. Sad. Where do students go to tie one on now? Market Square?

All men dream: but not equally.
Those who Dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds
Wake in the day to find that it was vanity; but the
Dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they
May act their dream with open eyes, to make it Possible.
This I did.

Back in the 70s we had a tradition of going to the Copper Cellar to eat before the game.  At some point it got so popular that we stopped doing that.  I have not been there in years, or rather decades.  I remember it being dang good.  When I looked it up on Google i really did not recognize it.  I vaguely remember it being in the basement of a row of old store front buildings, but those seem to be long gone.  The Cellar seems to still be there, and maybe still in a basement, but the building looks kinda new.  Anybody know the history of the place since the 80s?

Copper Cellar was the usual place to go after prom when I was in HS at Doyle.  Didn't go there much in college, though it was popular with UT students also.  I think my sister took me there after graduation, is one of the few times I recall going.  I did like it, but don't really remember much.
