I won't go into the show itself, I don't want to spoil it for anyone.  But it's really good.

But I have noticed a really neat trend in TV lately.  And that is including instrumental versions of popular songs in the original score.  Westworld's music director is the same guy who does Game of Thrones, BTW.  If you listened closely during the premiere, you probably heard Soundgarden's "Black Hole Sun" being played in the background on an old-timey piano in one of the saloon scenes.  More prominent later on was a full orchestral version of the Stones' "Paint It Black".  Pretty cool.

The first time I saw this was in season one of The Leftovers (most underrated show on TV, BTW.  Can't recommend it enough).  This scene just blew me away, mostly because of the haunting version of Metallica's "Nothing Else Matters".

I heard that. When I hear familiar songs I then have to wrack my brain figuring out what they are.

I know you're a technophobe, but there's an app for that.
