Should’ve been done about 15 years ago, but better late than never. Now we just need the big 3 cell providers to beef up their networks within a 1-2 mile radius of the stadium. Because tailgates also become a data desert from about 4-5 hours before kickoff.

As the old man on the board, allow me to say: What the hell did people do before wi-fi? FYI, I still use a flip phone.

You mean a transistor radio? I used a transistor radio "back in the day". It was either a Knoxville station or Nashville station that I could pull in to get the games. It came in better at night, of course. Was it KNOX? Was that a station? A transistor radio with one ear plug. We didn't call them pods or buds.

We were an afternoon paper family so we got the KNS When I got older the sports department under Ben Byrd was better in my eyes than West's

You mean a transistor radio? That too...with the one ear plug. Walkman with the headset was uptown and a luxury and could only afford them after the kids got out of college.

He got it when he did his Navy tour during the Korean War, probably in 1953, when he bought it in Tokyo, so it was a very early Japanese one (I believe the Japs made the first ones, and that was the start of their consumer electronics industry). I used to listen to Monday night football on the sly after bedtime. Good memories. I seem to have misplaced the radio. I hope it turns up, its something that was part of my father's history and he gave it to me when I was 9, so its a family heirloom of sorts. Pretty sure its in my house somewhere. But yea, it had the single ear plug and was AM only, used a 9 volt battery.

One like that got me in serious trouble, I think it was 67 when we beat Miss St in triple OT to win the SEC in basketball I was supposed to be in bedf asleep long before the end of that game but I had the transistor under my pillow with the single ear plug. When we won I let out a yell! That resulted in unwanted attention, and discipline
