I was pretty pissed also, but apparently he was just unaware of the clock.  Thought he had time to run out of bounds.  Should have been more aware, but he did get thrown into the fire pretty suddenly.

I highly doubt that he wasn’t fully briefed on the situation.  I think he just had a massive brain fart under the pressure of the moment and I feel for him.  If you can’t handle that pressure, you shouldn’t be playing QB.  I think the kid has tons of potential at QB, but obviously he has issues.  If Hook is seriously hurt, we need to hire a QB whisperer ASAP he he needs to start working 24/7 with Milton on how to throw.   Start the crash course on passing fizzleing now, dammit.

Ole Miss called a timeout before our last play.  If the coaches didn't inform him that he had to let the ball go, that is major malpractice on their part (I don't believe that is the case, btw).  He had to know that you MUST throw the ball into the endzone on this play.  He had to know that there were only 3 seconds on the clock.  He ran out of bounds after scrambling around in the pocket!!!!!!

Milton proved once and for all that he just doesn't have it upstairs. He knew the situation, and then he just completely lost his mind and waltzed out of bounds as if there were still time on the clock. Tremendous athleticism and a powerful arm, but when the bullets are flying, he gets tunnel vision.

I'm definitely not going to argue that Milton should be the starter.

But seriously y'all.  This is Heupel's 6th game.  Have you seen any indication at all that Milton is not going to start?  Deal with it, it very likely is coming.

1,000000% agree!

That play ranks with Ainge's "here you take it it I don't want it" throw (up) against L$U in 2005

The hellofit is that this was his big chance to shine and be the hero, and he totally shat the bed.

All he has to do is hurl the ball at the end zone.  Fans won't care if it misses, and would even give him credit for the previous pass down to get close to the end zone, and the near miss, which was at least partially on Tillman.

It was a totally blown opportunity by Milton.  Unreal.

If this is a quarterback driven sport like we think it is, we are effed for the near future.
