I've stood on a corner in Winslow.  No flatbed Ford came by, let alone slowed down ...

Sorry, did not stop in Winslow. At least I do not think so. Was not driving. I was asleep at the time.

Never been to Winslow Arizona, but if it's on I-40 I passed through.

My initial drive out to my first AF duty station (Edwards CA) was the first time I had ever been west of the Mississippi.  I remembered seeing the meteor crater near Winslow in my middle school textbooks, so when I saw the billboard for it I had to stop.  Drove like 20 miles off I40 on a dirt road to get there, thought I was going to drop off the edge of the world.  Anyway, it's pretty cool- you know, for a big hole in the ground.

Does Tuscaloosa count as a big hole in the ground?  Just want to make sure i have my "big hole in the ground" stories straight.....

(waits for BG to chime in!)

I swear if they get that stadium much higher we might as well bring a sack lunch and a keg for a party since the only time I want to go back DOWN those stairs is to go out of the stadium.....

still not as high as puppyville's 3rd deck.  Though the new South deck that looks down on the cemetery is close
