Thought this was interesting, considering we have some AF guys here.

When I was in the Navy we flew our aircraft way inland when a hurricane was coming....Most of the time we flew them to NAS Memphis. Surprised they didn't do the same.

The flyable jets flew to WPAFB.  These were either in phase (heavy maintenance) inspection or not mission capable, probably for lack of parts
Pictures cn be deciving but I suspect most of the jets will be returned to flyable status

Other pictures I've seen of the drone F-16s, not so much

All men dream: but not equally.
Those who Dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds
Wake in the day to find that it was vanity; but the
Dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they
May act their dream with open eyes, to make it Possible.
This I did.

Plus, Michael really snuck up on us- it moved and gathered strength really quickly. As late as last weekend, it was just a small disturbance out beyond Cuba. No one could've guessed that three days later, it would be making landfall in the Pandhandle as a cat 4. And even if they had known, that's not enough time to put a plane back together that has been torn apart for phase.

I had to snicker at the term "hurricane proof" hangars. Not so much obviously.
