It showed that 1985 game with Bo Jackson and AU number one. We kicked their arses and Bo took himself out of the game early.
My first game as a freshman at UT. One of my favorites!
Wife and me wasn't going to be able to make that game and I gave our tickets to someone....Then the end of the week things changed and we decided to go but now we had no tickets and I wasn't going to ask for our tickets back.
We got to Knoxville Friday night and stayed with my brother who lived in Knoxville at that time. We got up and went to campus looking for tickets....About a hour before kickoff we purchased 2 tickets outside the campus bookstore for $75.00 each...and I was glad to play it.....We got to our seats about 15 minutes before kickoff and you could tell that several couples in that area had, had those season tickets for years. I sat down next to older man and said hello, how are you? No reply....few minutes later I tried to make conversation with him and he just pretty much ignored me.....About 5 minutes before kickoff he looked at me and said...Where did you get those 2 tickets? I told him I got them outside the bookstore and was glad to get both for $150.00.....He then said....those 2 seats are my season tickets and I gave them to a guy I work with! You couldn't cut the air with knife.
As the game went on we talked and laughed....the 2nd half when we were kicking AUs ass we even high-fived each other several times! Turned out better than I thought at first.
